Our History
A Part of North Texas Since 1967
Spectape began in a small warehouse in Carrollton, Texas over 50 years ago. At that time, there were relatively few packaging companies in North Dallas. Like many small businesses, its founder, Bob Ricketts, grew the business by associating with good suppliers, hiring great employees and finding a diverse and loyal customer base.
A team you can trust
As a member of a buying group of fourteen different companies located throughout the United States, SPECTAPE® grew to possess one of the largest tape inventories in the Southwest. Although these companies primarily represented SPECTAPE®, they became major distributors for other well-known brands such as Shurtape, IPG, 3M and Berry Global.
Today, our headquarters are located in a 140,000 square foot manufacturing and distribution facility in Coppell, Texas, near the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Our team is a friendly, tight knit family, so it's no wonder that many of our employees have been with us for 20+ years and have a wealth of product knowledge, tips and advice to help our customers save time and money.
